HEALTH PROGRAMME 2015: Half marathon distance!

OPTIMUM HEALTH DIARY: This section documents my pursuit of peak health and sports performance using established methods, breakthroughs in sports science and alternative/nature options. Does the body deteriorate on default or does our lifestyles and mindset have a lot to do with it? I’ll answer that question in this weekly diary. This is a quest for both health & excellence, I want to push my body to its sporting limits to see what is possible. Why not? Let’s be open minded & approach it as an adventure as well as research. (Literally all of my sporting & fitness personal bests have happened in this period of my life so watch this space!!) I’ll be using my film-making and editing skills to also create a video diary here. ______________________________________________


SAT JULY 18TH:  On the weekend ran my furthest distance so far through the Royal Parks. A half marathon distance of 13 miles (my previous record was 10 miles). I kid you not I was so tired that I was actually cheered on by people as I did my final lap around Hyde Park’s Serpentine Lake. (When people are clapping you on that’s when you know you are tired LOL!) But no joke I almost gave up on the last 500 yards or so because my body was giving up & over heating but just as I hit that final strait on that picturesque lakeside a golden sunset came full into view over the lake (the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen) and also it immediately began to rain for the first time that day (cooling down my overheating body) & also one of my fav tracks came onto my mp3 player right at that moment – I Am The Black Gold Of The Sun – & with that inspiring combination at just the right time that 13 miles became another milestone sewn in the bag. Fortuitous timing is essential in all things we put down to pure luck. The Gods are watching. Have a good week .
